Joie has been a member of Factory's ensemble since 2009. She prefers to stay in the booth as a stage manager. She grew up 15 miles south of the North Dakota/Manitoba border; living on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation and then on the family farm near Dunseith. She ventured out to southern NH for high school and returned to her homeland of ND where she graduated from the University of North Dakota with a B.A. in English and Theatre. Joie and her husband, Joshua, moved to Chicago in 2003, where they have been participating in storefront theatre.
