Nick Booth* (Sound Designer) is a redeemable coupon, no obligation, no salesman will visit your home, he’s got a jackpot and prizes, all work guaranteed, how does he do it? He needs your business, he's going out of business, he'll give you the business, get on the business end of his going-out-of-business sale, receive his free brochure, read the easy-to-follow assembly instructions, batteries not included, send before midnight tomorrow, step right up, you got it buddy: the large print giveth, and the small print taketh away, step right up, you can step right up, c'mon step right up.
Allison Cain* (Assistant Producer) is very happy to be back in the producing chair at the Factory. She received her training at Carnegie Mellon University and Columbia College and has worked almost exclusively on new work since 1990, in Los Angeles, Connecticut, Scotland and Chicago. She became the Artistic Director of the now defunct, Studio 108, after moving to Chicago (where she produced twelve new works, co-directing two of them) and has acted in a multitude of plays with various theater companies throughout the city over the past 17 years. A member of the Factory since 2000, she was the Executive Director from 2001-2007 and has also produced and acted in numerous productions with the company. She is currently employed as the Managing Director of Lifeline Theatre and is thrilled to have finally made the time full transition to the not for profit theater world. She thanks you for supporting Chicago off loop theater.
Kate Donalek (Video) is a Columbia College student by day and a documentary filmmaker by night. Currently working on a short piece on the absence of women in Dubai, Kate is thrilled to work with the Factory Theater on something humorous for a change, and especially with childhood semi-cousin Chas Vrba, and actual sibling Tom.
Tom Donalek (Graphic Designer) is an architect and fourth generation in-the-city Chicagoan. Despite his Chicago roots, and the influence of Chas Vrba, he can't really be called a "Bears fan," or any sort of sports fan. When his eyeballs aren't glued to a monitor, he can often be found dangling from his fingertips in the vicinity of Nada, Kentucky.
Gary C. Echelmeyer (Lighting Designer) Design credits include: Once On This Island with Porchlight Music Theatre; Little Shop of Horrors, A Christmas Story (2006-08), I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and You Can’t Take It With You with Texas Repertory Theatre; Hello, Dolly! with Elgin Community College; Of Thee I Sing with Illinois Wesleyan University; Chicago, Sweeney Todd, Complete Works of Wm. Shakespeare Abridged, and Thoroughly Modern Millie with Clinton Area Showboat Theatre. Gary returned to Chicago a year ago after having lived in Houston, TX for three years while working in the lighting department with Houston Grand Opera. Gary has worked with Aspen Opera Theatre Center, Tulsa Opera, Opera Illinois, Northlight Theatre, Court Theatre, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, Raven Theatre, New Millennium Theatre, Theatre Under The Stars (Houston), Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, and Chicago Dance Crash. Gary earned his B.S. in Theatre Design & Production at Illinois State University. This is Gary’s first project with Factory Theater. Visit Gary’s online design portfolio: www.lightingbygce.com.
Joie Jackson-Graves* (Stage Manager) Has been a faithful Chicago Bears fan since she was nine years old, in large part due to her older brother; not bad considering they grew up in rival territory, aka Vikings Country. She's also in her second year of owning Bears season tickets, which means she will be absent during the December 13th performance as she will be spending the whole day at one of her favorite places – Soldier Field. Bear Down! Joie received a B.A. in Theatre and English from the University of North Dakota. This play is perfect for her, as she has great love for the Bears, Literature and Theatre. Joie's beyond ecstatic to be a part of this Factory production. Bear hugs to the cast & crew! Much love to her Joshua and family. Let's Go Bears!
Barbara Kanady (Props Master) had some free time on her hands, so she agreed to do props. Actually, her husband asked her to do props while she was sleeping and apparently she said yes. She's happy to be doing it, though, for three reasons: 1. She loves the Factory folks; B. She loves the Bears; and 3. She loves her husband and now gets to spend more time with him. Congrats, peace and love, Chas!
Angelina Martinez* (Set Designer) This is Angelina's second show with Factory as the set designer. Previously, she was responsible for all the glittery goodness that was the set for Bustin' Out Of The Hell. Other Factory credits include: Shameless Shamuses (Mrs. Hoehenzollern), Mop Top Festival (Colleen), Ceres (director) and Dead Wrong (assistant director). Angie has performed, designed, directed and written plays for a variety of theater companies throughout the Chicago area during her tenure in the local theater scene. Luv to Roachie. Viva La Factory. Bear down. Seriously.
Paul Metreyeon* (Asst. Director) is a proud company member of Factory as well as Co-Ensemble Director of the company. Thank you all for supporting Original Work! Enjoy the show.
Ziggy Olson (Technical Director) has jumped out of a moving airplane, gone lugeing for Valentine's Day, eaten buffalo this past month next to the Colorado River and once burned his 1992 Volvo to the ground. He is also a carpenter. Not unlike a certain messiah.
Carrie J. Sullivan* (Executive Producer) has been a proud member of The Factory since 2004, and the Executive Director since the beginning of 2008. While she did participate in various high school theater activities (she's pretty sure she Vice President of the Drama Club at some point), she did not actually plan to do anything with theater in her adult life. She began stage managing and assistant stage managing for Hi-Volt and Defiant Theaters (now both defunct, r.i.p.) before finding her home with The Factory. She has worked in various capacities on several Factory classics, including "Among the Dead", "Being At Choice", "Top Shelf...", "Menage a Trailor", "G.I.s in Europre" and "Siskel and Ebert Save Chicago", from assistant stage managing, to playing and/or tracking bass lines, to producing. She is thrilled to be at the helm of such a dynamic and incredibly talented ensemble.
Rachel M. Sypniewski (Costume Designer) wants to thank Chas and Eric for including her on this classic adventure. Rachel's most recent designs include Dead Wrong with the Factory, Grapes of Wrath with Infamous Commonwealth, American Notes with Will Act for Food and Night Season with Vitalist Theatre. Having over 60 design credits in Chicago, she has worked with a wide variety of companies and she couldn't possibly pick a favorite production. If you enjoyed her work tonight, you can catch her next design at the Lincoln Park Cultural Center with New Leaf Theatre for The Man Who Was Thursday. Much love to Robb, Tiny, Lucky and Squirt.
Eric Roach* (Director) is always happy when he directs Factory shows, and this one is no exception. He also acts from time to time, he's recently played with Strawdog in Red Noses and here at the Factory in Dead Wrong. Thanks to all his pals at The Mammals, The Hypocrites, The Raven, The Griffin, and Lifeline. He is also now a Bears fan. Deal with it. Thanks to a cast and crew that knows how to BEAR DOWN! Love to my Angel.
Jermaine Edward Thomas (Asst. Stage Manager) is happy to be working on 1985 with some kick ass people, and loves the awesomeness that is Factory. He has worked on two other fine Factory productions such as Mop Top Festival, and Dead Wrong. By the way, let's not forget the great time he had working with the wonderful people of Will Act For Food on American Notes. Enough with this guy, it’s time to enjoy the show.
